Lovely shot, but our tour guide for the Lamanai tour on Monday said that there is no rainforest in northern Belize. Gotta go south for that. There is jungle here, but no rainforest. I didn't know that.
I struggled with a title for this image. Rainforest: Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall, with definitions based on a minimum normal annual rainfall of 1750-2000 mm (68-78 inches)and mean monthly temperatures exceeding 18 °C (64 °F) during all months of the year. Jungle: A jungle is an area of land in the tropics overgrown with dense vegetation. If the leaf canopy of a rainforest is destroyed, the tangled of new ground growth (vines, shrubs and small trees)is called a jungle.
